Miss Black Country- WASUP Ambassador

Hi Everyone!
My name is Isobel Lines (19), a sports science student at the University of Worcester, based in the Black Country. I have been competing in Miss England for 4 years now and last year at the Semi Finals, I had the pleasure of meeting Professor Gatrad who introduced to me the project ‘WASUP’. At the time, the project was still called ‘Walsall Against Single Use Plastic’ which had a great connection to myself as I was born at Manor Hospital, Walsall.
Since meeting Prof Gatrad a year ago last week, I have been actively involved in the development and positive progression of WASUP which is now known as ‘World Against Single Use Plastic’. In 2019, I attended Canal cleans in Walsall, judged the WASUP exhibition at Walsall College and performed at the WASUP Musical Gala. In 2020, I launched WASUP in Worcester, raised over £250 for the cause at a University event and have now become an official ambassador for the project as well as taking a lead on the marketing.
I am super excited to continue working for the cause and look forward to working with local schools within the community on plastic pollution.
