WASUP Coventry Launch
08/02/20
WASUP Coventry successfully launched in February through the leadership of Mr Davinder Prasad.
We are being supported by so many prominent organisations including business community and we hope to engage with local communities. schools, colleges, universities, local business community, NGO’s working on environment and statutory agencies including Coventry City Council.
We have taken up this project with a specific aim to reach people in Coventry and prepare them to take ownership of preparing City of Coventry for 2021 when international visitors will visit to see the City of Culture of 2021. We would like to see all streets and parks free of litter, we would like to see the ponds and canals in City of Coventry looking clean and lovely with nature expressing itself through fish in the canals, ducks and swans in the ponds, birds in the litter free parks and Coventry at its best.
We aim to get all community groups, schools and colleges, universities, places of worship, community centres and businesses small, medium and large involved in WASUP(Coventry)’s business, Prof Rashid Gatrad, Founder of WASUP has given us a new slogan – “Let us get WASUP done” – stop use of Single use of plastics and the plastic litter already in parks, roads, ponds and canals to be directed to Recycling centres and free our local environment from plastic pollution.
We are inviting you to be a participant and supporter of our vision for City of Coventry which will be “City of Culture 2021” and Co-host city for “Commonwealth Games 2022 – Birmingham”.
